I have to say this man has truly been given a gift! He has a new FREE album out called "Singalong" which you can download for free at his website. I've been listening to him for a few years now, and he's such a storyteller! I love his lyrics. He has one song out called "True Love" and it's the story of Christ written in a way that a worship leader can communicate The Cross into a few words in which a fellowship of believers can sing about. (I'll include the lyrics and a video at the end of this post.)

I truly love the lyrics to this song. In the very beginning Phil writes, "Come close, listen to a story / About a love, more faithful than the morning / The Father gave His only Son just to save us." In just a few down strokes on the guitar, a story has begun with the listener. We're going to hear a story about Christ - and then the pre-chorus and chorus take over and we're heading to the climax.

" The earth was shaking in the dark / All creation felt the Father's broken heart / Tears were filling heaven's eyes / The day that true love died / When blood and water hit the ground / Walls we couldn't move came crashing down / We were free and made alive / The day that true love died." What a beautiful climax!
